A day that will grip the world
A day that will forever be etched in history
A day that signifies a new beginning, a desperately needed change, and an end to the word 'impossible'.
A day that heralds the end of the George W. Bush Jr era.
A day that symbolises the beginning of hope.
The inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama as the 44th President of the USA is so highly anticipated that the world's media are fighting for available space at the inauguration event;
an event that not just attracts attention but demands it. The magnitude of the event can only be fathomed if you imagine surrounding the world's largest sporting events, (the Superbowl, the Olympics, the World Cup et al) combine them, and then some!!
Over 1.5 billion people are estimated to be intensely watching the event, keenly waiting for the 35 words that will swear in Obama as President and then the highly anticipated speech that will follow.
As we, the 7GW Team, journey to a place brimming with optimism, we invite you to take the ride with us. We plan on reviewing some of the wonderful events that precede and follow the Inauguration. 7GW aims not just to countdown with the rest of the world in celebrating a distinguished incumbent, but also to learn a few thing salong the way. These include understanding:
Key themes surrounding Obama's victory
How did he really do it?
What is so special about Obama?
Can the UK use the lessons of his rise to prominence as a catalyst for progressive change, particularly in terms of race relations, and also in attaining unprecedented heights and depths in our own quest for the ‘I'm-possible’?
YES WE CAN!!
Stay tuned.......
